What it is
Some things are easier to type. Text It Out gives teens 42 ready-to-send text starters for telling a parent or trusted adult the hard stuff: a bad grade, friend drama, feeling down, needing help, or messing up. Pick one, change any words, and send. There is also a page for the grown-up on the other end, so the first reply helps instead of shutting the door.
What's included
- 42 text starters in 7 sets: Start anywhere, School stuff, Friend stuff, Feeling down, I need help, I messed up, and Add what you need
- Start here page: how to pick your person, pick a starter, add what you need, and what to do if they don't answer
- My people page: up to three trusted adults, plus a code text you set up together ahead of time ("if I text this word, please call me with a reason to leave")
- Finish the text: a four-part write-your-own builder (start, what happened, how I feel, what I need)
- 12 phone-size pocket cards to print (about 2.6 x 5 in): every set, a My people card, and 4 blank cards
- 7 phone screens, one per set, to save and copy from
- 14 lock screens: 7 quiet reminders in light and dark ("Some things are easier to type.", "You don't have to carry it alone.")
- For parents and trusted adults (2 pages): how to answer the text, what to skip, first-reply ideas for every topic, and what to do if the text is about safety
- Printing and phone setup page
