What it is

Some days it feels like everyone is looking at, talking about, and comparing bodies. The Body Neutral Journal is a calm, grown-up-looking printable written to the teen (ages 13 to 18) that turns the volume down. It's about what your body does, not how it looks, and nothing in it asks a teen to change their body. No rating, no grading, no streaks. Teens start by noticing what their body does for them on an ordinary day, then spot the body talk around them (at home, at school, in group chats, online, and in their own head). They swap harsh thoughts for something true and a little kinder (no fake positivity required), borrow words for when people comment on their body or when friends do body talk, and make a mute plan for body-comparison content in their feed. There are small experiments for mirrors and photos, a Clothes That Feel Good page, a Hard Body Day Menu, an "I'm More Than a Body" page, an optional truce note to their body, a calm page on when to bring in help, and a page to hand to a parent.
