What it is

Teens make a lot of choices: friends, classes, teams, weekends, what to post, what to say yes and no to. My Compass helps them figure out what actually matters to them, so those choices get a little easier. It's a printable values card sort plus a 14-page workbook, written straight to teens in plain words. Not religious, not political, and nothing to grade.

What's included

  • 36 value cards in six color families (My people, How I treat people, Being me, Growing, Spark, My world). Every card has a one-line "what it looks like" in teen words, plus a "for me, it looks like" space to make it personal
  • 3 pile cards (Really me, Sometimes me, Not really me), 2 how-to cards, and 4 blank cards for values of their own
  • What Even Is a Value?: values vs. goals vs. rules, ground rules, and where values show up in everyday life
  • How to Sort Your Cards: six simple steps
  • The Quick Sort: a no-scissors page that lists all 36 values with tick circles
  • My Top 5: narrow down to 10, then 5, and write what each one looks like for you
  • Mine, or Borrowed?: where each value came from (family, friends, culture, online, you) and whether it still fits
  • Am I Living It?: a quick check for each top value, plus small steps that count
  • Which Choice Fits My Compass?: a decision helper that holds two options up to your top 5
  • Values Tug-of-War: what to do when two values pull different ways, with a worked example
  • Who I Am Right Now: a snapshot page, written in pencil, because people change
  • When I Went Off Course: a no-shame page for when you didn't act like your values, with guilt vs. shame explained
  • A Letter to Future Me: with starters and an "open on" date
  • Keep It Close: three wallet cards and a bookmark for your top 5
  • Before You Go: keeping it going, a short note for grown-ups using it with a teen, and when to get more support
  • Card backs, plus a separate double-sided card file
