What it is

The Evidence File is a printable self-esteem notebook with a case-file theme. Instead of asking you to repeat affirmations you don't believe, it asks you to collect evidence: things you actually did, things people actually said, strengths you actually used. You write down what the critic says, check it the way a fair judge would, and build a file of real proof you can reread on the days the critic gets loud. It's written for teens and adults, in plain words, with a calm, grown-up look. Nothing cutesy.

What's included

  • Open the File: what this notebook is, ground rules, and what counts as evidence
  • How it works: seven steps, any order, plus a "short on time" starting point
  • The Charges: log what your inner critic says, how loud it is, and whether you'd say it to a friend
  • Case Review: check one charge at a time (evidence it uses, evidence it leaves out, a fair judge's view, a more accurate statement, before-and-after belief ratings)
  • Sample Case: a filled-in example so you can see how it works
  • Exhibit Log: small proof, lettered A to L
  • Exhibit Tags: 6 cut-out tags to attach to real keepsakes (cards, ticket stubs, printed screenshots)
  • Strengths Finder: 36 strengths in 6 groups, marking what you've shown and what others have noticed
  • Strengths on Record: your top five, backed with real examples
  • Witness Statements: ask people you trust what they've seen you do well (includes a text you can send)
  • Witness Slips: 6 cut-out slips to hand to someone
  • Compliment Log: write compliments down word for word, and notice whether you brushed it off, argued, or let it in
  • Cold Case: look at an old belief again with what you know now
  • Case Summary: a 10-minute monthly review
  • For the Loud Days: fill it in on a calmer day, read it on a hard one
  • Closing page: about your inner critic, keeping the file going, and when to get more support
