What it is
The Proof I'm Awesome Jar helps kids (about 7 to 11) collect real proof of the good stuff in them. Instead of repeating affirmations, they write down small true moments: I kept playing after I missed the goal. I sat with the new kid. I figured out my math by drawing it. Each slip gets rolled up and dropped in a jar. On a hard day, they pull out 3 and read them out loud.
What's included
- How it works page, with "proof vs. not proof yet" examples and a try-it line
- 8 proof slips: what really happened, "this shows I am," and five kinds of proof to circle (I did it, I tried, I helped, I learned, someone noticed)
- 8 starter slips for kids who get stuck ("I was brave when," "I fixed a mistake by")
- 6 "What my people say" slips for parents, teachers, coaches, grandparents and friends
- 21 strength picture cards + 3 blank ones to make your own
- 2 jar labels + 3 hang tags (no jar? a cup, box or envelope works too)
- Proof Hunt page: where to look for proof at school, at home and with friends
- When My Brain Says Mean Things: a hard-day plan that uses the jar
- Proof Party: a monthly sort mat for the five kinds of proof
- Proof Count tracker (1 to 100) with celebrations you pick
- "Proof I'm Awesome" certificate
- 2-page grown-up guide: why proof works better than general praise, how to praise in a way that turns into proof, and when to get more help
- BONUS refill file: just the slip pages, to print again and again
