These are the places, apps, and little things that make me feel safe, happy, and a little more like myself. Some are for when I want to make something. Some are for when I want to be around people.
I'm going out looking for more, and I'll add each one here as I find it. Follow along, or go check them out for yourself.

The Little Village Play Cafe
My kids are grown now, but when I watched my friends' little ones, this was the spot. It's a coffee shop and indoor play space under one roof: real espresso for the grown-ups, a whole play space for the kids. Everybody wins.
Little boxes out on sidewalks and front yards, filled with tiny treasures. You leave a trinket, take a trinket, and walk away a little happier. Sidewalk Joy keeps a map of boxes in thousands of spots, so there might be one near you.
Handcrafted ice cream, snacks, and a little shop right on North Ave in Tosa. It's bright, cozy, and family-friendly, and the whole place lives by its "Chill Vibes Always" sign. Plus, it's called Joy. It had to make the list.
A café, coworking spot and makerspace all in one. I can grab a coffee, sink into a window seat, make something, and leave feeling like I belong there. Come for the coffee, stay for the people.
For the days I want to connect. You flip your status to "Open to Chat" at a coffee shop or event, see who else nearby is open too, then put the phone down and actually talk. No awkward intros.
